Artistic Producer
PowerOut

A company run by three director-playwrights (Todd Brian Backus, Nora Sørena Casey, and Ben Ferber) who produce each others' work. Co-founded the company in Portland, ME and produced 8 productions over a year. Spearheaded the transfer of the company to New York and produced 7 full productions, and numerous workshops. Leads venue selection and negotiation, hiring, contracting, budgeting, social media, and dramaturgy.

Co-Runner
Hot Pepper Theater

A New-York-based YouTube channel that makes theater critics eat hot peppers. Regularly hosts videos. Hosts all live shows. Coordinates venues, budgeting, and concept for live shows. Books guests and talent. Manages audio recording and both audio and video editing. Co-leads graphics, social media, and episode releases. Helped spearhead the creation of Folio Group, a theater media collective of which Hot Pepper Theater is a founding member.

Producer, 2016 Non-Equity Company Showcase
Williamstown Theatre Festival

Produces the Non-Equity Company Showcase in New York City, coordinating 11 actors from the Non-Equity company in creating and promoting the event. Books and coordinates the venue, and negotiates terms of rental. Manages mailings, invites, and other logistics. Manages scene suggestion and selection.

Associate Director of the Professional Training Program
Williamstown Theatre Festival

Lead produced six one-hour shows, two ten-minute play showcases, and a huge immersive theater piece. Worked closely with Director Jason McDowell-Green to cast these productions, and give artistic notes to their directors. Coordinated all Directing Studio logistics with Production and the various design departments. Line produced two full-length Fellowship productions. Helped coordinate readings and workshops. Set up sessions with casting directors for the Non-Equity company and director Q&As for the Directing Corps. Acted as liaison to other departments, and rehearsal space manager.

Coordinated dates, budgeting, and logistics with the venue. Managed talent. Spearheaded marketing and publicity. Coordinated rehearsals and tech rehearsal. Designed and ran projections.

Co-Producer, 2015 Non-Equity Company Showcase
Williamstown Theatre Festival
Produced the Williamstown Theatre Festival Non-Equity Company Showcase with Jason McDowell-Green, coordinating 11 actors from the Non-Equity company in creating and promoting the event. Managed scene suggestion and selection. Directed several scenes. Coordinated with the venue, Playwrights Horizons, to deal with terms of rental. Designed and ran sound.

Directing Assistant
Williamstown Theatre Festival

As a member of the Directing Corps, was assistant Director of Off the Main Road on the mainstage and directed two shows in the directing studio. Worked with other Directing Corps members to create devised work at the Williams College Museum of Art. Read scripts for play selection.

Artistic Assistant
Williamstown Theatre Festival

As part of the year-round artistic staff of the Festival, managed submissions and correspondence regarding programming, and was responsible for coverage. Acted as office manager to the New York office, with duties including drafting and editing official correspondence, heavy phone coverage, travel and transportation arrangements, and scheduling and planning for the Artistic Director Mandy Greenfield. Acted as a primary technical support to the office.

Directing Resident
Cape May Stage

Acted as line producer for the 2013 season, with occasional production management duties. Co-designed a brand new internship program and selected, oversaw, and scheduled its eight interns; worked with the Managing Director Jon Wojciechowski to streamline and redefine that program as the year went on. Assisted with casting. Moderated and coordinated talkbacks. Directed and curated staged readings. Dramaturged and assistant directed five shows in the mainstage season and directed one. Directed the intern company’s summer show.

Manhattan Theatre Club

As a member of the Artistic Staff, actively contributed to programming conversations, and was responsible for coverage. Acted as office manager to the Artistic Production office, closely assisting Artistic Producer Mandy Greenfield, with duties including drafting and editing official correspondence, heavy phone coverage, travel and transportation arrangements, and general scheduling and planning. Coordinated talend for annual fundraisers and special events. Acted as a primary technical support to the office.

Artistic Production Intern
Manhattan Theatre Club

Reported directly to the Artistic Producer Mandy Greenfield, Artistic Line Producer Lisa McNulty, and Artistic Assistant Ryan McGlone, to provide administrative support in the Artistic Production office, which is responsible for programming and producing all MTC shows. Summarized and catalogued all major American and British reviews and news, maintained office expenses, and acted as a primary technical support to the office.

Contributing Artistic Director
Midtown International Theatre Festival

Sought out playwrights in order to curate the 2013 season of the festival for Producer John Chatterton. Attended every production in the festival, and adjudicated the Festival Awards given to production companies, playwrights, directors, actors, and designers.

Directing & Dramaturgy Intern
Portland Stage Company

Worked on the artistic staff in the Literary and Education office with Literary and Education Manager Daniel Burson managing submissions, script reading, and educational programs. Dramaturged two MainStage productions. Assistant directed and stage-managed two annual play festivals, From Away and Little Festival of the Unexpected. Researched, wrote, edited, and designed the physical publications for seven issues of the PlayNotes resource guide. Read and evaluated scripts for the Clauder Competition. Assisted with post-play discussions. Served on run crew for two shows.

Lark Play Development Center

Worked as part of the artistic team, supporting the Director of Onsite Programs, May Adrales. Responsibilities included extensive script reading and review, redesign and organization of casting files, and hands-on support of staged readings and rehearsals. Assistant Directed a Studio Retreat, Love Kills.
